Every parent coming into a church wonders the same thing…‘Is there a place for my child.’ Whether in worship, in Sunday school, or in nursery care, a priority goal of our ministries is to ensure that children of all ages are able to feel at home as part of our church family.

Sunday School
K3 through grade 8
Every Sunday during our 10 am worship service
The Sunday school program of North Shore Church seeks to expose children to the stories of the Bible, increase their familiarity with the narrative of our faith, and inspire the lifelong journey of an ever-deepening relationship with God in Jesus Christ. Through everything from Bible reading and conversations to games, skits and crafts, the children of the church are engaged in reflection about God’s work and love in our lives.
The Sunday school program runs year-round during the 10 am worship service. Kids typically begin in worship in the sanctuary at 10 am and then proceed to Music & Movement and Godly Fun shortly thereafter. Exceptions to the schedule include summer months, certain holidays, and other special programs.

Crib ‘n Crawler
Newborn to Pre-K
Our Crib & Crawler offers an appealing and nurturing environment, available for newborns to three-year-olds. Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for these youngest members of our church family. While we are glad to have children of all ages worship with us in the sanctuary, the Crib ‘n Crawler’s is always available for parents who wish to depart into that space.
Children in Worship
While all children ages 3 and above generally start in worship before going to Sunday school, children of all ages are always welcome to remain in worship throughout the service. For those who benefit from something to keep them occupied while in worship, binders and bags full of activities, coloring pages, crossword puzzles and more are available. Visit our Noah’s Ark as you enter or ask an usher for assistance.
Volunteers Needed
The Sunday school program of North Shore Church is almost entirely reliant upon volunteer leadership.
Sunday school teachers are asked to review and prep a lesson to be led during the 10 am worship service, while additional adults are needed to be present in the classrooms and assist the teacher as she/he needs. All volunteers receive the blessing of working with the youngest members of our church family and learning from the wonderful questions they ask and ideas they explore.

Providing a safe and comfortable environment for children is imperative for the personal and spiritual development of both the children and their parents. Through membership expectations, accountability practices, background checks, and more, we work diligently to see to the well-being and protection of all children at North Shore Congregational Church.
