Whether for one week, or for every week, we are always thrilled to welcome you when you join us for worship.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is no early chapel service at this time. We gather for worship both in person and online (Facebook) at 10am each Sunday.
The hymns, prayers, Scripture and sermon that we share in the early service are supported, in our 10 am worship service, by additional elements including Children’s Messages, the Chancel Choir, and other special music offerings from the Handbell Choir, the Children’s Choir, individual soloists and small ensembles, and more. This service takes place in our ‘Meetinghouse’ (the traditional Congregational name for the sanctuary) and, like the early service, communion is generally served on the first Sunday of each month.
In his farewell sermon to the Pilgrims journeying to the new world in July of 1620, Pastor John Robinson proclaimed his confidence that God has “more truth and light yet to break forth out of his holy word.”
And, God still does…
Generally, our 10 am worship service begins, each Sunday, with members of all ages together in worship. After the opening of the service and a Children’s Message, all children age 3, through grade 8, are invited to attend Sunday school.
While the pre-school and elementary students attend Sunday school on the lower level, our Middle school students (grades 6-8) are provided with their own space on the upper level of the church building. Lessons include activities, videos, discussions, and other age-oriented material to help them continue to grow in their relationship with God.
For the youngest among us, who could use something to stay busy for part (or all) of our Sunday services, bags and binders full of activities, puzzles and more are available as you enter worship.
Approximately once each month, Sunday school children begin in the upstairs chapel at 10 am. For the first 20 minutes of the worship hour the children share worship with one of our Ministers. From prayer, to singing, to carrying in the light of Christ, this brief monthly time allows us to more deeply explore many of the basic elements they see in worship every week.
The Children’s Choir is open to children in grades K3-6. The choir rehearses once a week, on Sundays, from 9 – 9:50 am in the large group Sunday school room downstairs. The choir sings during the 10 am service, once a month, and is always great joy for the congregation! We incorporate dance, instrumentation, and often collaborate with the adult choir, bell choir, and older youth. Children are welcome to join in at any time throughout the year.
Twice a year (prior to Christmas and Mother’s Day), the Children’s Choir, Sunday school and others in the church cooperate to present a pageant during the 10am worship service. In addition to the pageant, these services are filled with opportunities for the children and youth of the church to share musical gifts, lead readings and serve in many other ways in the liturgy of the service.
From music programs and fellowship gatherings, to camps, retreats and mission trips, explore all that is available in our ministries for children and youth.
